<outline text=" "/>

			<outline text="The inauguration of a president is one of those spectacles of democracy that can make us remember we're part of something big and enduring. So for a few hours this past Monday the pomp and circumstance inspired us to think that government of, by, and for the people really is just that, despite the predatory threats that stalk it."/>

			<outline text="But the mood didn't last. Every now and then, as the cameras panned upward, the Capitol dome towering over the ceremony was a reminder of something the good feeling of the moment couldn't erase. It's the journalist's curse to have a good time spoiled by the reality beyond the pageantry. Just a couple of days before the inaugural festivities, The New York Times published some superb investigative reporting by the team of Eric Lipton and Kevin Sack, and their revelations were hard to forget, even at a time of celebration."/>

			<outline text="The story told us of a pharmaceutical giant called Amgen and three senators so close to it they might as well be entries on its balance sheet: Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), Democratic Senator Max Baucus (MT), chair of the Senate Finance Committee, and that powerful committee's ranking Republican, Orrin Hatch (UT). A trio of perpetrators who treat the United States Treasury as if it were a cash-and-carry annex of corporate America."/>

			<outline text="The Times story described how Amgen got a huge hidden gift from unnamed members of Congress and their staffers. They slipped an eleventh hour loophole into the New Year's Eve deal that kept the government from going over the fiscal cliff. When the sun rose in the morning, there it was, a richly embroidered loophole for Amgen that will cost taxpayers a cool half a billion dollars."/>

			<outline text="Amgen is the world's largest biotechnology firm, a drug maker that sells a variety of medications. The little clause secretly sneaked into the fiscal cliff bill gives the company two more years of relief from Medicare cost controls for certain drugs used by patients who are on kidney dialysis, including a pill called Sensipar, manufactured by Amgen."/>

			<outline text="The provision didn't mention Amgen by name, but according to reporters Lipton and Sack, the news that it had been tucked into the fiscal cliff deal ''was so welcome, that the company's chief executive quickly relayed it to investment analysts.'' Tipping them off, it would seem, to a jackpot in the making."/>

			<outline text="Amgen has 74 lobbyists on its team in Washington and lobbied hard for that loophole, currying favor with friends at the White House and on Capitol Hill. The Times reporters traced its ''deep financial and political ties'' to Baucus, McConnell and Hatch, ''who hold heavy sway over Medicare payment policy.''"/>

			<outline text="All three have received hefty campaign donations from the company whose bottom line mysteriously just got padded at taxpayer expense. Since 2007, Amgen employees and its political action committee have contributed nearly $68,000 to Senator Baucus, $73,000 to Senator McConnell's campaigns, and $59,000 to Senator Hatch."/>

			<outline text="And lo and behold, among those 74 Amgen lobbyists are the former chief of staff to Senator Baucus and the former chief of staff to Senator McConnell. You get the picture: Two guys nurtured at public expense, paid as public servants, disappear through the gold-plated revolving door of Congress and presto, return as money changers in the temple of crony capitalism."/>

			<outline text="Inside to welcome them is a current top aide to Senator Hatch, one who helped weave this lucrative loophole. He used to work as a health policy analyst for '-- you guessed it '-- Amgen."/>

			<outline text="So the trail winds deeper into the sordid swamp beneath that great Capitol dome, a sinkhole where shame has all but disappeared. As reporters Lipton and Sack remind us, just weeks before this backroom betrayal of the public interest by elected officials and the mercenaries they have mentored, Amgen pleaded guilty to fraud. Look it up: fraud means trickery, cheating and duplicity. Amgen agreed to pay $762 million in criminal and civil penalties; the company had been caught illegally marketing another one of its drugs."/>

			<outline text="The fact that their puppet master had been the subject of fines and a massive federal investigation mattered not to its servile pawns in the Senate, where pomp and circumstance are but masks for the brute power of money."/>

			<outline text="Rep. Peter Welch, Vermont's Democratic congressman, has just introduced bipartisan legislation to repeal the half billion-dollar giveaway to Amgen. Its co-sponsors include Republican Rep. Richard Hanna of New York and Democrat Representatives Jim Cooper of Tennessee and Bruce Braley of Iowa."/>

			<outline text="The Amgen deal ''confirms the American public's worst suspicions of how Congress operates,'' Representative Welch told us this week. ''As the nation's economy teetered on the edge of a Congressional-created fiscal cliff, lobbyists for a private, for-profit company seized an opportunity to feed at the public trough. It's no wonder cockroaches and root canals are more popular than Congress.''"/>

			<outline text="In his inaugural address, Barack Obama said the commitments we make to each other through Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security don't make us a nation of takers. But the actions of Amgen and its cronies under the dome on Capitol Hill show who the real takers are '-- not those who look to government for support in old age and hard times but the ones at the top whose avarice and lust for profit compel them to take as much as they can from that government at the expense of everyone else.Originally published by Moyers & Company on BillMoyers.com"/>

			<outline text="Note: For deployment of applications with Java Web Start on the web, the web server you are using should be able to handle JNLP files. The web server must be configured to recognize JNLP files as applications, i.e. the MIME type for JNLP should be added to the configuration of the web server. Otherwise, files with the JNLP extension will be treated as usual text files. For more information about web server configuration, refer to the Java Web Start Guide."/>

			<outline text="3. In the Codebase Preview field, enter the URL where you will be uploading the source files. For example: http://mydomain.com/myuser/jmonitor/. If you happen to be using a tool like dynamic DNS, make sure that you use the dynamic DNS URL. For example, my URL is: http://n8mdp.dyndns.org/n8mdpASP/jmonitorN8MDP"/>

			<outline text="4. I strongly recommend that you select the "Applet descriptor" radio button and make sure that the line shows: jmonitor.MonitorApplet. I had a problem with the Application descriptor (use project Main class) to deploy jmonitor."/>

			<outline text=" "/>

			<outline text="5. Click OK in the Project Properties window."/>

			<outline text="6. Right-click the jmonitor node and choose Clean and Build. This IDE command deletes all previously compiled files and build outputs, recompiles your application, and builds output files with current settings."/>

			<outline text="Before we move the files to the server, we have to make a change to the launch.html file. When NetBeans creates the launch.html file, it creates a file that looks like this:"/>

			<outline text="Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. For some reason, the code that says:"/>

			<outline text="<applet width="480" height="230"><param name="jnlp_href" value="launch.jnlp"/></applet>only wants to download the launch.jnlp file and not actually run the application in a web browser. So I reviewed how John Melton G0ORX rewrote this to get it to work."/>

			<outline text="We need to update this code with the correct information:"/>

			<outline text="<script src="http://java.com/js/deployJava.js"></script><script> var attributes = { codebase: [applet codebase], code: [class to launch], archive: [JAR file with the applet], width: [applet width], height: [applet height] }; var parameters = { [applet parameters] }; var version = [JDK version]; deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, version);</script> "/>

			<outline text="To get the application to load and run correctly, I modified this section to the following:<script src="http://www.java.com/js/deployJava.js"></script><script>var attributes = { code:'jmonitor.MonitorApplet', width:480, height:230} ;var parameters = {jnlp_href: 'launch.jnlp', server: 'n8mdp.dyndns.org', receiver: '0'} ;deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, '1.6');</script>Note that it is important that you use the correct server IP address.Finally, you also need to erase the '-->' just above the </body> line in the code. That was the closing HTML comment symbol when this code was originally commented out. When you are done, the launch.html file should look something like this:"/>

			<outline text="Save the file. Now you are ready to load files to your server."/>

			<outline text=" "/>

			<outline text="Uploading the Source FilesUpload the launch.html, launch.jnlp, jmonitor.jar, and the lib file folder from the 'dist' file folder in the jmonitor project to your server in the file folder path you specified in the Codebase Preview line in NetBeans. Once you have uploaded the files and folder, you should be able to test the system by launching the launch.html file locally. Hopefully, jmonitor will begin to run. If your internet router/gateway does not allow loopback (like mine), you have may to change IP addresses in Main.Java and Client.Java in Netbeans to an IP address behind your firewall. Follow the process above once again. In my case, I run two version, on just for me behind my firewall and another version so that outside listener can operate jmonitor."/>

			<outline text="Geplaatst @ 26 januari 2013Burgers van Nederland, wakker worden! De voorbereidingen voor een heuse EU-dictatuur zijn in volle gang. Beste lezers, u zult hieronder een artikel van mijn hand aantreffen dat scherper van toon is dan te doen gebruikelijk. En met goede reden. De media hetze van euro-propaganda neemt namelijk onmetelijke vormen aan. Voor wie goed is ingevoerd in deze materie is dat ongehoord, voor wie van toeten noch blazen weet, ongeveer negentig procent van het electoraat, betekent deze propaganda een ongekende volksverlakkerij.Een greep uit de internationale reacties naar aanleiding van de speech van Cameron:"/>

			<outline text="- Frankrijk legt de rode loper uit voor het Verenigd Koninkrijk mocht dat land vertrekken uit de EU. Mais bien s>>re! Dan houden de failliete Fransen toch nog een stem in het kapittel.- Duitsland zoekt een compromis. Tja, Merkel zou eens een duidelijk standpunt innemen.- Het Witte Huis vindt dat de EU sterker is met GB erbij. Of dat in het belang van GB is, daarover laat islam lover Obama zich niet uit.- En dan Nederland."/>

			<outline text="Hoe reageerde de Nederlandse regering? Het duurde nogal voordat Rutte met een reactie kwam. Feestneus Timmermans was in het kader van een van zijn vele snoepreisjes in het 'buitenland'. Maar Rutte zou Rutte niet zijn als hij niet wederom met een weinigzeggende verklaring kwam: ''Dat debat is goed. Wat niet goed zou zijn, is als de uitkomst is dat het Verenigd Koninkrijk uit de EU vertrekt. Dat is slecht voor het Verenigd Koninkrijk, en slecht voor Europa.''"/>

			<outline text="Waar is de onderbouwing ?"/>

			<outline text="Waarom dan, heer Rutte? Wat zijn uw argumenten? Graag uw onderbouwing. U geeft aan voor een 'scherp' debat te zijn, maar wat als de uitkomst u niet bevalt? Gaat u dan weer wild om zich heen slaan zoals destijds met ''ik zal dat partijtje van jou wel even decimeren?'' Wanneer leert u eens te begrijpen dat democratie betekent dat de stem van het volk bepaalt wat er gebeurt? Uw partij is tegen referenda, want u gelooft in een ''representatieve democratie''. Wat is dat? Wat blijft daar van over als de volksvertegenwoordiging geluiden uit de samenleving die zij zegt te vertegenwoordigen, negeert? God noch gebod worden gespaard om 'het volk' te laten geloven wat de gevestigde orde wil. Van radio, tv, kranten tot aan stemmenpeilers, alles wordt gemobiliseerd. Dankzij het 'domme' volk dat niet verder kijkt dan NOS journaal of NRC."/>

			<outline text="Dom klootjesvolk"/>

			<outline text="De Nederlandse politiek, op de eurokritische partij van Wilders na, was vol lof over de 'elaborate speech' van Cameron. Behalve over'... het referendum. Stel u voor dat de stem van het domme klootjesvolk zou worden gehoord. Dat kan natuurlijk niet, ongehoord natuurlijk. Het bontst maakte Alexander Pechtold het door te stellen dat Cameron , ''hoog spel'' speelt om een referendum aan te kondigen. Hij ziet het vooral als een poging om de EU onder druk te zetten bij onderhandelingen over de Britse eisen. Hoe zou het eigenlijk met de aanstaande burgervader van Kanalen eiland gaan? En, misschien interessanter nog, wie gaat hem opvolgen als fractievoorzitter? Maar dat terzijde."/>

			<outline text="De partij van de directe democratie, Democraten zes-en-zestig, willen g(C)(C)n referendum over de euro of de EU! Hoe is het mogelijk? De kampioen der referenda, de partij die het woord heeft uitgevonden, D'66, wil voor 90% geen referenda! Need to say more about those hypocrites?Ik luisterde gisteren namiddag naar BNR, doorgaans de meest liberale omroep. Maar wat schetste mijn verbazing? Ook daar stuitende EU-propaganda, niet in het minst door dat presentatortje, even denken, Petra Grijs of Grijze, zoiets. Grijs was het sowieso."/>

			<outline text="Een keur van gasten kwam voorbij. Van FD-journalist Matthijs Schiffers tot 'strateeg' Thomas van der Heide, van 'liberaal' Boekestein tot socialist Willem Vermeend. Van Michiel van Beursen tot het World Economic Forum, van Buma tot Ewald Engelen. Tussen die laatste twee ontspon zich een venijnig debatje. Leuke radio, dat wel, want ik heb het meeste onthouden."/>

			<outline text="Brave Buma"/>

			<outline text="Het standpunt van brave Buma was tamelijk voorspelbaar. Ik vat het aldus samen: de speech van Cameron, ach, dat moet je niet overdrijven joh, da's vooral voor 'binnenlands gebruik' (stemmen winnen bedoelt ie, TP). Natuurlijk gaat het budgetrecht van de Kamer niet naar de EC, ik ben een heuse parlementarir hoor. En natuurlijk blijft Prinsjesdag, Prinsjesdag, mensen mogen ook dan met vlaggetjes zwaaien naar de koets. Het april rapport over onze begroting, dat de EC ons oplegt gaat om de hoofdlijnen, u weet wel de 3%, de 60%, enzovoorts, komt goed joh. We moeten toch 'samen' werken in EU-verband? En ja, we hebben nu eenmaal een Europa van meerdere snelheden (bedoeld wordt: wij moeten betalen voor die arme sloebers van vak Zuid, die het tempo niet kunnen bijbenen, TP). En passant werd nog een sneer uitgedeeld naar de VVD, die toch 'voortdurend' mee had gedaan aan de overdracht van nationale bevoegdheden naar Brussel. Alsof het CDA dat niet heeft gedaan. Typisch gevalletje van tonnen boter op het roomse hoofd."/>

			<outline text="Daartegenover stelde Engelen toch een heel wat kritischer geluid. Gelukkig maar. Of ie het werkelijk meent weet ik niet, wiens brood men eet, wiens woord men spreekt uiteindelijk, nietwaar? In elk geval. Wat stelde Engelen?"/>

			<outline text="The boy, a student at Ralston Valley High School, faces cyber bullying charges."/>

			<outline text="Police say in this case the photos were posted on Instagram and included derogatory and sexual comments about the suspect's classmates."/>

			<outline text="''He was just saying things you would never expect that these kids would do and just how they were doing inappropriate stuff and'...it's not true,'' one student says."/>

			<outline text="What was said online was enough to stun a parent. ''Frankly, I don't care how hard it (the punishment) is. That was a really mean thing to do. You hear this stuff on the news all the time, where people commit suicide over this kind of stuff, so I don't think they could be hard enough on him.''"/>

			<outline text="Investigators want to remind parents about cyber bullying and that nothing posted online is actually anonymous."/>

			<outline text="US pop legend Tina Turner, who has been living in Switzerland since 1995, will soon receive Swiss citizenship and will give up her US passport, Swiss media reported Friday."/>

			<outline text=""I'm very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here. ... I cannot imagine a better place to live," Turner told German language daily Blick."/>

			<outline text="Turner, 73, who was born Anna Mae Bullock, lives in picturesque town of Kuesnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, and has passed a local civics test and interview, according to an official announcement published in the Zuerichsee-Zeitung daily."/>

			<outline text="The woman behind such hits as "Private Dancer", "Simply the Best" and "What's Love Got to Do With It?" will still need a green light from the canton of Zurich as well was federal authorities before she can receive red passport, the two papers reported."/>

			<outline text="Turner spokeswoman Karin Rhomberg told the Zuerichsee-Zeitung that the singer wanted to "clarify her situation"."/>

			<outline text=""Tina Turner will therefore also give back her US citizenship," she said."/>

			<outline text="Link to Article" type="link" url="http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/goldman-sachs-made-400-million-betting-on-food-prices-in-2012-while-hundreds-of-millions-starved"/>

			<outline text="Source: WT news feed" type="link" url="http://s3.amazonaws.com/radio2/w.tromp@xs4all.nl/linkblog.xml"/>

			<outline text="Sat, 26 Jan 2013 03:14"/>

			<outline text=""/>

			<outline text="Why does it seem like wherever there is human suffering, some giant bank is making money off of it? According to a new report from the World Development Movement, Goldman Sachs made about 400 million dollars betting on food prices last year. Overall, 2012 was quite a banner year for Goldman Sachs. As I reported in a previous article, revenues for Goldman increased by about 30 percent in 2012 and the price of Goldman stock has risen by more than 40 percent over the past 12 months. It is estimated that the average banker at Goldman brought in a pay and bonus package of approximately $396,500 for 2012. So without a doubt, Goldman Sachs is swimming in money right now. But what is the price for all of this "success"? Many claim that the rampant speculation on food prices by the big banks has dramatically increased the global price of food and has caused the suffering of hundreds of millions of poor families around the planet to become much worse. At this point, global food prices are more than twice as high as they were back in 2003. Approximately 2 billion people on the planet spend at least half of their incomes on food, and close to a billion people regularly do not have enough food to eat. Is it moral for Goldman Sachs and other big banks such as Barclays and Morgan Stanley to make hundreds of millions of dollars betting on the price of food if that is going to drive up global food prices and make it harder for poor families all over the world to feed themselves?"/>

			<outline text="This is another reason why the derivatives bubble is so bad for the world economy. Goldman Sachs and other big banks are treating the global food supply as if it was some kind of a casino game. This kind of reckless activity was greatly condemned by the World Development Movement report..."/>

			<outline text=""Goldman Sachs is the global leader in a trade that is driving food prices up while nearly a billion people are hungry. The bank lobbied for the financial deregulation that made it possible to pour billions into the commodity derivative markets, created the necessary financial instruments, and is now raking in the profits. Speculation is fuelling volatility and food price spikes, hurting people who struggle to afford food across the world.""/>

			<outline text="So shouldn't there be a law against this kind of a thing?"/>

			<outline text="Well, in the United States there actually is, but the law has been blocked by the big Wall Street banks and their very highly paid lawyers. The following is another excerpt from the report..."/>

			<outline text=""The US has passed legislation to limit speculation, but the controls have not been implemented due to a legal challenge from Wall Street spearheaded by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, of which Goldman Sachs is a leading member. Similar legislation is on the table at the EU, but the UK government has so far opposed effective controls. Goldman Sachs has lobbied against controls in both the US and the EU.""/>

			<outline text="Posted below is a chart that shows what this kind of activity has done to commodity prices over the past couple of decades. You will notice that commodity prices were fairly stable in the 1990s, but since the year 2000 they have been extremely volatile..."/>

			<outline text="The reason for all of this volatility was explained in an excellent article by Frederick Kaufman..."/>

			<outline text="The money tells the story. Since the bursting of the tech bubble in 2000, there has been a 50-fold increase in dollars invested in commodity index funds. To put the phenomenon in real terms: In 2003, the commodities futures market still totaled a sleepy $13 billion. But when the global financial crisis sent investors running scared in early 2008, and as dollars, pounds, and euros evaded investor confidence, commodities -- including food -- seemed like the last, best place for hedge, pension, and sovereign wealth funds to park their cash. "You had people who had no clue what commodities were all about suddenly buying commodities," an analyst from the United States Department of Agriculture told me. In the first 55 days of 2008, speculators poured $55 billion into commodity markets, and by July, $318 billion was roiling the markets. Food inflation has remained steady since."/>

			<outline text="The money flowed, and the bankers were ready with a sparkling new casino of food derivatives. Spearheaded by oil and gas prices (the dominant commodities of the index funds) the new investment products ignited the markets of all the other indexed commodities, which led to a problem familiar to those versed in the history of tulips, dot-coms, and cheap real estate: a food bubble. Hard red spring wheat, which usually trades in the $4 to $6 dollar range per 60-pound bushel, broke all previous records as the futures contract climbed into the teens and kept on going until it topped $25. And so, from 2005 to 2008, the worldwide price of food rose 80 percent --and has kept rising."/>

			<outline text="Are you angry yet?"/>

			<outline text="You should be."/>

			<outline text="Poor families all over the planet are suffering so that Wall Street bankers can make bigger profits."/>

			<outline text="It's disgusting."/>

			<outline text="Many big financial institutions just seem to love to make money on the backs of the poor. I have previously reported on how JP Morgan makes billions of dollars issuing food stamp cards in the United States. When the number of Americans on food stamps goes up, so does the amount of money that JP Morgan makes. You can read much more about all of this right here: "Making Money On Poverty: JP Morgan Makes Bigger Profits When The Number Of Americans On Food Stamps Goes Up"."/>

			<outline text="Sadly, the global food supply is getting tighter with each passing day, and things are looking rather ominous for the years ahead."/>

			<outline text="According to the United Nations, global food reserves have reached their lowest level in nearly 40 years. Global food reserves have not been this low since 1974, but the population of the world has greatly increased since then. If 2013 is another year of drought and bad harvests, things could spiral out of control rather quickly..."/>

			<outline text="World grain reserves are so dangerously low that severe weather in the United States or other food-exporting countries could trigger a major hunger crisis next year, the United Nations has warned."/>

			<outline text="Failing harvests in the US, Ukraine and other countries this year have eroded reserves to their lowest level since 1974. The US, which has experienced record heatwaves and droughts in 2012, now holds in reserve a historically low 6.5% of the maize that it expects to consume in the next year, says the UN."/>

			<outline text=""We've not been producing as much as we are consuming. That is why stocks are being run down. Supplies are now very tight across the world and reserves are at a very low level, leaving no room for unexpected events next year," said Abdolreza Abbassian, a senior economist with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)."/>

			<outline text="The world has barely been able to feed itself for some time now. In fact, we have consumed more food than we have produced for 6 of the last 11 years..."/>

			<outline text="Evan Fraser, author of Empires of Food and a geography lecturer at Guelph University in Ontario, Canada, says: "For six of the last 11 years the world has consumed more food than it has grown. We do not have any buffer and are running down reserves. Our stocks are very low and if we have a dry winter and a poor rice harvest we could see a major food crisis across the board.""/>

			<outline text=""Even if things do not boil over this year, by next summer we'll have used up this buffer and consumers in the poorer parts of the world will once again be exposed to the effects of anything that hurts production.""/>

			<outline text="We desperately need a good growing season next summer, and all eyes are on the United States. The U.S. exports more food than anyone else does, and last summer the United States experienced the worst drought that it had seen in about 50 years. That drought left deep scars all over the country. The following is from a recent Rolling Stone article..."/>

			<outline text="In 2012, more than 9 million acres went up in flames in this country. Only dredging and some eleventh-hour rain kept the mighty Mississippi River from being shut down to navigation due to low water levels; continuing drought conditions make "long-term stabilization" of river levels unlikely in the near future. Several of the Great Lakes are soon expected to hit their lowest levels in history. In Nebraska last summer, a 100-mile stretch of the Platte River simply dried up. Drought led the USDA to declare federal disaster areas in 2,245 counties in 39 states last year, and the federal government will likely have to pay tens of billions for crop insurance and lost crops. As ranchers became increasingly desperate to feed their livestock, "hay rustling" and other agricultural crimes rose."/>

			<outline text="Ranchers were hit particularly hard. Because they couldn't feed their herds, many ranchers slaughtered a tremendous number of animals. As a result, the U.S. cattle herd is now sitting at a 60 year low."/>

			<outline text="What do you think that is going to do to meat prices over the next few years?"/>

			<outline text="Meanwhile, the drought continues. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, this is one of the worst winter droughts the U.S. has ever seen. At this point, more than 60 percent of the entire nation is currently experiencing drought."/>

			<outline text="If things don't turn around dramatically, 2013 could be an absolutely nightmarish year for crops in the United States. If 2013 does turn out to be another bad year, food prices would soar both in the U.S. and on the global level. The following is from a recent CNBC article..."/>

			<outline text="The severe drought that swept through much of the U.S. last year is continuing into 2013, threatening to cripple economic growth while forcing consumers to pay higher food prices."/>

			<outline text=""The drought will have a significant impact on prices, especially beef, pork and chicken," said Ernie Gross, an economic professor at Creighton University and who studies farming issues."/>

			<outline text="So let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst."/>

			<outline text="It looks like higher food prices are on the way, and millions of poor families all over the planet will be hard-pressed to feed their families."/>

			<outline text="Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs will be laughing all the way to the bank."/>

			<outline text="that Queenie has been workin' her emancipation for Uncle Abe for quite some timeI applaud B. Hussein Obama and his script writers, as they have even outdone sociopaths to a level of "Americans are idiots and we can tell them anything"."/>

			<outline text="The first level in this was the lovely Muchelle Robinson Obama AKA M.R. Obama who we were told how beautiful, gorgeous, Paul McCartney crooning Michelle sexy this 8 year old trapped in a 50 year old cotton pickers form.It was all strange to the normal mind, as it was like MR had won the Miss Beauty Pageant and instead of solving world hunger her prize request was for all to tell her mirror mirror how lovely she was.Yeah MR was the ugly witch in this bizarre children's tale and all of you story readers were looking at Sleeping Beauty Sarah Palin in knowing she was the babe, and Muchelle along with the husband, just had to make Muchelle the babe on the global block."/>

			<outline text="That now has even not been enough for the Obama's as Muchelle tried desperately to be Diana Ross for 4 years.............yeah you probably should not Freud that one in what Barack gets his balls bouncing on or what Michelle got her boobies bouncing on in priviate in Chicago days........as both of them liked the Supremes supremely and ............ick."/>

			<outline text="Now though Barack in press conference said he the Obama's were likeable and could the smoker in the GOP Congress come over and play with his cards.Look, I did not write this scipt and never made this up. Obama wanted males who put things between their lips and suck on them........like Monica..........to come over to his OVAL OFFICE in order to play with his DECK."/>

			<outline text="Sure it was double entendre by Obama, and you saw it on display when Muchelle rolled her eyes at the playful Boehner and Obama bandying about things, to see if the MR would sign off on the playtime.MR of course responded with "You are going to replace me with him???? I don't believe it!!!!""/>

			<outline text="So now you know the psychological conversation which no one else has exposed........blah blah blah blah blah.......and blah."/>

			<outline text="What is odd though to me, as it is odd, were the Obama's in the parade viewing booth. Obama was doing a white man or Asian dance there.Muchelle was tryig to be a rock star ho. They were recreating the Clintons beach scene of long ago of the "happy couple"."/>

			<outline text="Then there was head bobbing Queenie who appears like Sloven on a bread and water starvation diet.......Queenie has no black in her, as that head bob was all Peking.Sloven just sort of lays in there and not a whole lot goes on......she still looks like she is auditioning to push a mop for a living.......maybe that is why MR wears that mop hair chop."/>

			<outline text="So this degrades then into ABC doing kissy face stories as the Obama's pose, jig as Chins and head bob.Yes they really are likeable I guess........reminds one of the square freaks from the 1960's who were not with it, to quote their generation."/>

			<outline text="What came next in the Obama transformation is..........the media started running Mockingbird feeds of the Obama's are now the example of blackness and not the Huxtables in the Bill Cosby fictional family."/>

			<outline text="Do you get that?"/>

			<outline text="It is not enough for Obama to .........well be Jesus, Reagan, Martin, Bill, Abraham, Mahdi, Ossama..........you know the list. No man, Obama and MR now they want to replace Bill Cosby and Felicia Rashad, as the new fictional American family."/>

			<outline text="Do you not get the hillarity in this?????"/>

			<outline text="You got Birther Obama, with more birth abstracts than a border busting Mexican along with Social Security numbers..........adopted by every continent.........goes by different name than what he is in AKA..........his old man blew dust......a dock worker knocked up the whore Mum from the Philippines....adopted Indonesian.......foreign aid student................I stop there as Obama is pure fiction."/>

			<outline text="Then there is MR, who has this thing in her panties that looks like a male thing. Then there is that black thing.........the woman's closest slave relative is like from 2 centuries ago.....she is a Norwegian RobinSON.........."/>

			<outline text="Then there are the Obama daughters who look nothing like Barack or Muchelle.......but more like Scottie Pippen from the Chicago Bulls and Stevie Wonder from the Detroit Motown."/>

			<outline text="The Obama's are fictional and now they want to replace their fiction with another fiction which is what America once desired.The Obama's are now the Obamubbles."/>

			<outline text="Do you now see how absoutely insane this is? No the Obama's do not get the joke as they are nuts. The people who scripted this for them find it a riot and can not stop laughing at their stage act and the American audience watching all of this dumbfounded........well at least the ones who are still in their right minds.........the left mind has left the building with Elvis long ago."/>

			<outline text="I wonder what comes next in this dicatorship? Is Obama doing Caligula fairy dances in the theater room already inviting Jake Tapper over? Will Obama now start entering places with HEY HEY HEY as Skinny Albert?Is Muchelle next going to be Princess Diana? Is Queenie going to be...........Marilyn Monroe.........is Sloven going to be Betty Boop?"/>

			<outline text="The Secret Service has to be watching this Four Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and start every transmission with BEAM ME UP SCOTTIE."/>

			<outline text="Thing is Diane Sawyer and Bob Scheiffer actually signed onto this and think that Boehner and the GOP are the nutty ones........well maybe Di and Bob figure the willing duped are more dangerous than the dupes Obamas."/>

			<outline text="This is just all too Twilight really even for me as it is like sitting in an LSD bar watching the bullets fly by and say hi."/>

			<outline text="nuff said 234"/>

			<outline text="PS: For you Obama voters so this soaks in, could you imagine if FOX and George W. Bush had announced that he was Martin Luther King jr. and that the family had now become the best example for a family than the Beaver Cleaver family.......how you would have hauled W in to the nut ward and rightly castigated FOX in not knowing Ward and June were not even real?????"/>

			<outline text="Got really disgusting in she even lowered herself to slap around my dead sister, after she had these beasty tirades about NATURAL LAW in it was quite wonderful to mass murder Col. Khadaffi as this Ginsu got off on things Mark Levin slobbered over in Obama murdering people in the bin Laden home and leaving children to crawl around in the blood.By Libya, even Mark Levin wised up in figuring out this savage nature only spawned worse things."/>

			<outline text="Don't get me wrong in this, in I do admire Kim Jong Un as the only man in the room. He is on par with Vladamir Putin. The rest of the world has these Obama fags prancing about and that is what makes Kim look so viril. When it came time to tie the knot, Kim married the hottie Ri while Obama tagged that guy Muchelle."/>

			<outline text="When it came time to pose with kids, Kim pats them on the head and Obama fondles them on his lap."/>

			<outline text="China, North Korea's sole significant ally, even come down against Pyongyang's intransigence, with Xi Jinping, the next president, telling a visiting delegation of politicians from South Korea that he opposes the regime developing nuclear arms or any weapons of mass destruction."/>

			<outline text="How can you be the popular girl when you are sounding like Obama broadcasting from the Forbidden City.Kim Jong Un is not a fool. He is probably one thee most adept natural leaders the world has produced in the post Reagan era. That is the reality and it is not going to change.No matter if Obama makes al Qaeda his terror group and arms them, they are still going to be lusting after atomic and biological weapons, and this is what Kim Jong Un knows and still has the network of Obama marginalized terrorists to perform kabuki with."/>

			<outline text="You must comprehend this that North Korea prints almost as much US currency as Obama does. The little Korean wives they are sending across the border to fulfill the needs of Chicoms are agents of the dear leader, and they are pumping more than their hips in pillow talk."/>

			<outline text="Kim realizes the weakest links are China and America, and not Japan or South Korea who will bite him. So Kim shoves a broom up Obama's ass just to show the world who is the man in the room."/>

			<outline text="Sure Kim is a bit touchy about things in going off on Peking girls printing he had plastic surgery to appear like dear leader one. He will get that figured out in time too and realize he has the babe for a wife while Obama just goes around fondling Indochinese chics on his election theft tour."/>

			<outline text="If Kim was up to his game, he would be featuring all the Obama Birther stuff in Obama being a Chinese agent, along with Obama being the had of al Qaeda which is all factual. That might be the most dangerous thing he could do as Obama would react to that, but Kim would have the American underground championing the propaganda in stating Kim was the honest one in the conversation."/>

			<outline text="I do plan to touch on this further in what is taking place in all of this. I have the art work on the comp here, but just have not written the story in exposing things as was awaiting Inspiration."/>

			<outline text="For now though, what could be more wonderful than Kim Jong Un actually threatening Barack Hussein Obama with his own policy of Jungle Fever.....I mean Jungle Law in which Obama has murdered piles of people with around the globe.It certainly appeals to the Mark Levin slobberers as they do like the blood lust in things."/>

			<outline text="Oh if Kim Jong Un would like to donate some of the Clinton bribe millions that Jimmy Carter negotiated to his dear leader dad to this blog in order to do have Ri do an interview, it would be welcome. Need her in some pin up pose though. Nothing slutty, but when you are selling North Korean communism, you got to show the wares in exposing what a guy Muchelle is.Just some leg and a coy pose....think of Grace Kelly in a silk dress with her legs crossed."/>

			<outline text="A Colorado man, who said that he was an ex-Marine and claimed a "right-wing declaration of independence/constitutionalist political manifesto," built improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to trade for cocaine and hoarded several military-style assault weapons that may have been converted to machine guns, the Department of Justice said on Thursday."/>

			<outline text="According to an affidavit, federal agents with the Bureau of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) raided the home of Richard Lawrence Sandberg in Jefferson County on Thursday after he provided an undercover agent with homemade bombs."/>

			<outline text="After receiving a tip from a Denver Police Department detective, ATF Special Agent Shane Abraham contacted Sandberg and told him he needed an explosive device to protect a building. Sandberg, who claimed to be "former Special Ops Recon SS Marine Corps," allegedly said that he was in possession of "incendiary" or "napalm" explosives, but the devices were wrong for the job. The suspect then recommended a "frag" -- or fragmentation device -- and suggested that he could provide something that was also waterproof."/>

			<outline text="Sandberg claimed that the kill zone for his "frags" was 20 meters and the hurt zone was 60 meters, the affidavit said. He called his IEDs "homemade shit" that were built with materials from Home Depot and were "life or death." The suspect said that he also had 18 military-grade M67 fragmentation hand grenades, but would only sell five."/>

			<outline text="During their first meeting on Tuesday, Sandberg told Abraham that he had built Claymore bombs with glass shrapnel while serving in war zones, and that the shrapnel could not be detected in bodies of the victims. The affidavit said that Sandberg "claimed a right-wing declaration of independence/constitutionalist political manifesto" and worried that the Obama administration's current gun safety push was an effort to take away his guns."/>

			<outline text="Sandberg explained to Abraham that he was ready to die and that a Marine Special Forces Reconnaissance team would need to take him out because civilian SWAT teams did not have the capability. He showed the ATF agent Kevlar ballistic panels and iron doors with "gun turret/cut outs" that he used to fortify his home in case of a siege. Sandberg said that he was in possession of a Berretta pistol, an H&K .45 pistol, an AR-15 5.56 mm rifle and a .50-caliber rifle. And he suggested that at least one of the weapons had been illegally converted into a fully-automatic machine gun."/>

			<outline text=""Sandberg also stated that he was in possession of several thousand rounds of ammunition and also in possession of uranium-tipped, armor-piercing ammunition," the affidavit noted."/>

			<outline text="ATF Explosives Enforcement Officer Gary Smith Certified Explosives Specialist Matthew Traver determined that three sample devices obtained from Sandberg qualified as destructive devices under federal law."/>

			<outline text="Agents discovered a "Fire Obama" sign in his second floor window and a U.S. Marine Corps flag in his front yard when they raided his home."/>

			<outline text="TIMOTHY LEARY AND THE CIATimothy Leary and the CIAorThe Spy Who Came In From the (Ergot) MoldBy W.H. Bowart"/>

			<outline text="The Associated Press reported that '60's LSD proselyte, Timothy Leary died in his sleep, May 31, 1996. It reported that Carol Rosin, his friend for 25 years was by his side along with family and friends."/>

			<outline text="Rosin told the AP: "He had been alert for the last few days -- he'd been traveling with one foot in this world and one foot in the other world. Until yesterday, he was moving around in an electric wheelchair, but he was getting weaker."/>

			<outline text="After his passing, Leary's homepage on the World Wide Web said simply: "Timothy has passed." It also said his last words were three "why not's" and one "yeah." Leary himself, had reported that he was taking morphine to ease the pain for months. It is well know that Leary had always been into drugs -- any drugs, all drugs, both prescription and recreational."/>

			<outline text="An Intensive Care Nurse read the internet reports of his death. It said his last words were "why not", "why not", "why not" in several different tones , and his final word was "yeah.'"/>

			<outline text=""I've seen a lot of people die with cancer," the ICU nurse said. (For obvious reasons she does not want to be identified.) "It's very painful to die that way. From all report's Leary's death must have been a mophine assisted death."/>

			<outline text=""The final script probably went like this: ' Timothy do you want a shot of morphine to ease your pain?'"/>

			<outline text="" And he answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text="" A little while later whoever was administering the morphine checked on him, asking him, 'Would you like a little more morphine?'"/>

			<outline text=""And he answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text=""After an interval, the morphine admistrator asked, 'How about some more morphine?'"/>

			<outline text=""And Leary answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text=""After that they asked, "I'll bet you're feeling no pain now?'"/>

			<outline text=""And, just before the morphine paralyzed his cardio-pulminary system, he replied, "Yeah.""/>

			<outline text="So Timothy Leary finally fulfilled the prophecy in the Moody Blues tune,"Legend of a Mind." At least he fulfilled the first phrase: "Timothy Leary's dead.... Oh, no no no, no no no nooo, he's on the outside looking in..." More on that later."/>

			<outline text="A couple of millionaire movie producers who put up thousands of dollars for Timothy Leary's escape are sad and disappointed. An army of middle aged acid-heads and flower children who contributed thousands more to the Timothy Leary Defense Fund, and other funds which were supposed to help Tim beat a rap or get out of jail are in deep mourning."/>

			<outline text="But somewhere, in Heaven, in Hell, in the great cosmic void, or confronting a fearsome isn'tness Timothy Leary is probably grinning at them. The glib Boston Irishman conned them all. They paid for what the government did without their funds -- arrange Leary's "escape" in 1970 from Vacaville prison, and his tour of Algeria, Switzerland, and Afghanistan. At least, that's a logical conclusion you could draw from an interview he gave in 1977."/>

			<outline text="After he returned to the United States in 1973 it is said that he was assigned to solitary confinement next to a "hole mate" who quoted the bible in a booming voice. This "Born Again Christian" was none other than Charles Manson. Leary left his "Turn on , tune in, drop out" campaign behind in prison, he became a self- styled prophet of "Life Extension" and "Space Exploration," "Cyronics" and finally "Cyberspace." All these, he said in turn with great enthusiasm, were where it was at! He had been arrested by G. Gordon Liddy in 1965 at the Deitrich estate in Millbrook, N.Y. He was photographed with a big smile going into the Duchess County jail. Almost twenty years later he was debating Liddy on the college lecture circuit (receiving a minimum of $2,500 per appearance) still wearing that same smile."/>

			<outline text="That smile was his trademark. It was a smile which masked his vacuity and desperation. It was the smile of a pretender. The smile of a failed husband and father. "Half a song and half a gag," was how writer Alan Harrington's wife, Luba, once described Leary. He was an academically disgraced psychologist who wrote one serious book, Interpersonal Diagnosis of Personality, which today stimulates the same interest from the scientific community as does phrenology. While some people thought he was a prophet of the new age, he was, deep inside himself, a cast-off CIA asset who died without purpose, fluttering like a hang-glider trying to fly in windless air without the propeller of a cause to lift it."/>

			<outline text="He did not go with a "Bang" nor a "Whimper." He did not rage against the dying of the light. He did not die with a smile on his face, as he had lived, even in utmost tragedy, such as when his first wife, and then his only daughter commited suicide. Leary lived to the ripe old age of 75, then he died of natural cuases. He was not assassinated by one of his many enemies. That is success."/>

			<outline text="The last time I saw Leary was in Tucson, Arizona where he came for a lecture in support of the L-5 Society, a group which promoted private enterprise in space. Leary phoned me and asked to see me about an "urgent matter." The matter, turned out to be not that urgent, but very interesting."/>

			<outline text="Leary wanted to explain himself more completely about a series of letters we'd exchanged during his last days in prison, letters in which he denied that he had received any support from the CIA or other clandestine agencies of government in his psychedelic campaign of the 1960's."/>

			<outline text="While doing research for my book, Operation Mind Control (originally published in 1978), I'd come across a CIA document with Leary's name on it. The CIA memo directed agents to contact Leary and company, who were then operating an organization called International Federation for Internal Freedom ( IFIF). The memo asked its agents to discover if any agency personnel were taking acid with this group. The CIA wanted to determine what IFIF really knew about what was then billed as "the most powerful drug known to man," LSD, a drug which the agency was experimenting with in an attempt to create mind controlled zombies."/>

			<outline text="Another, earlier similar CIA document I found ordered agents to contact Aldous Huxley for the same reason. There were no follow-up documents to indicate whether the CIA had, or had not, made contact in either instance. Still, other documents indicated that Leary had received money channeled by the CIA through various government agencies. The files showed that, in all, there were eight government grants paid to Leary from 1953 to 1958, most of them paid through the National Institute of Mental Health, now known to have "fronted" for the CIA in the MKULTRA program."/>

			<outline text="My letters to Leary had been straight forward. I asked him to explain his apparent long romance with the cryptocracy. I further wanted to know if, as the press had reported, he had become a witness for the government in a number of drug cases. Was he, I asked, a government snitch?"/>

			<outline text="In July, 1976, writing from prison, Leary flatly denied that the government had contributed to his psychedelic research. He claimed that "nobody ever went to jail because of any testimony" he might have given."/>

			<outline text="He explained that he had never used any form of Behavior Modification in his experiments, although a title of one of his papers had been, "How to Change Behavior." He told me I could find out whether his grants were CIA connected by writing NIMH and Harvard."/>

			<outline text="He said, writing to me from jail, that if they were covertly CIA funded he had no knowledge of it."/>

			<outline text="A letter from Bertram Brown, Director of NIMH, neither confirmed nor denied that NIMH had supported Leary's research. Brown did say that Harvard had received grants for drug research, but NIMH record keeping did not permit knowledge below the "major institution level." Harvard said it could not find its records on Leary's research there, as it was too far in the past. (This was in 1977.)"/>

			<outline text="Joanna (Harcourt-Smith) Leary and a coworker told me that they had tried to contact Leary for several months when he was in Folsom and he could not be found. After normal attempts through prison authorities had failed to locate him, they took their case to the press and gathered a number of famous persons to sign a petition protesting the disappearance of the Pope of Dope."/>

			<outline text="Joanna told me that, after the outcry in the media had grown loud, prison authorities quickly "located" Leary and allowed her to visit him. She said that when, at last, she sat across the prison table from him, separated by a pane of thick glass, he looked very pale. She said he had his head completely shaved, had bruises on his body, and didn't seem like the man she'd known before."/>

			<outline text="Before he was released from prison, I wrote him to ask if he had been mistreated in prison or subjected to aversive therapy or any other form of behavior modification. Leary said that he had never been mistreated at the Vacaville California Medical Facility. He wrote that the administration of Vacaville "probably ranks with the most enlightened in the country.""/>

			<outline text="His "enlightened facility was where horrendous experiments such as "anectine therapy" had been conducted on non-volunteer inmates under CIA covert guidance. Anectine stops the respiratory functions of the body and the "subject" feels as if they are dying. An attendant must keep them breathing with a machine. As the panic sets in when the involuntary muscles quit, an attendant says, "This is what will happen if you break the law ." And just before the "subject" loses consciousness, the respiratory is turned on the the "subject" is brought back from the brink of death."/>

			<outline text="In following correspondence I explained to Leary what I'd found: that the CIA was the world's largest consumer of Sandoz LSD; that they'd worked with the Bureau of Narcotics, the NIMH, LEAA and other agencies to covertly give LSD to unwitting persons in "real life settings.""/>

			<outline text="Leary's answer to that was that he did not think the CIA experimentation with LSD was very ominous. His conclusion was, "based on my fifteen years of confrontation on the front lines of the struggle ( individual freedom vs state control) are these: "--govt 'behavior mod programs' were trivial, peripheral, more benign than evil, ineffective, silly, and never a part of any basic policy...""/>

			<outline text="He called me a "prosecutor" and said that he was disappointed that I saw corruption and conspiracy within our government. He railed about "liberal paranoia" saying that it "is a thousand times more effective and pervasive than 'right wing' scientific efforts." He said that "ninety-nine percent of all psychologists are liberals. All prisons are networks of suspicion. There is no behavior mod conspiracy. Such rumors spread among the liberal community are dangerous because they distract attention from the real problem -- that the Law Enforcement establishment does not want to alter behavior...""/>

			<outline text="When I finally sat with Leary in Tucson, we renewed acquaintances. A couple of his old friends were at our house when he visited and he was glad to see them. Since I'd last seen him, almost ten years before, his nose appeared to have been broken and his dentures no longer fit. All agreed, after he left, that this was not the same man we'd known before he'd gone to prison. We couldn't tell if he'd changed because of the normal prison brutality, or because he was under some great pressures or had been tortured. In those days nobody believed in mind control. Few knew of the clandestine experiments on U.S. citizens which were run against their will and without their knowledge."/>

			<outline text="The first thought I had when seeing the altered Leary was, "He's been the victim of one of the secret prison mind control programs.""/>

			<outline text="We drank wine and talked lightly about news of mutual friends. Finally he insisted that he and I go to a quiet place and make a tape recorded interview. I'd just finished Operation Mind Control and had sent it of to the publisher. It was too late to get anything new into it and, I told Tim, that frankly I was weary of the subject. He insisted that we tape an interview."/>

			<outline text=""I'll tell you things I've never told anyone before," he said. I couldn't resist such a journalistic temptation, so we went to my office with our glasses and turned on the tape recorder."/>

			<outline text="He started by congratulating me for breaking the CIA-mind control story. I couldn't take full credit for that, but I listened, accepting his compliments for the three of us who'd been working on the mind control case for a few years."/>

			<outline text=""The game you're playing, and the stakes at which you're gambling... you may be wrong ninety-nine times, but if you're right once, you've won a billion, or whatever you're playing for, so keep going...""/>

			<outline text="I certainly wasn't playing for the money. The stakes were higher. These stakes were no less than freedom of human thought and perhaps the remnants of democracy in the world. But maybe I was naive. Maybe I should write screenplays and make some money instead of running around the country researching the victims of CIA mind control experiments conducted in the streets of New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and other cities, as well as in prisons, mental hospitals, in the ranks of the military services, on unwitting and unvolunteering men women and children."/>

			<outline text=""The contract I'm making with you," Leary said, " is, I never lie. I'm wrong a lot of the time, but I'm going to tell you everything you ask me. I'm not going to hide anything. On the other hand, and there is no question that I want to ask you... on the other hand I want to know things...""/>

			<outline text="So, it was to be quid pro quo then?"/>

			<outline text="I agreed to share any information I had with him on the CIA's involvement with drugs and mind control, but I told him, fact was, everything I knew, except the personal details of certain survivors, had already been made public. "Have you ever knowingly worked for the CIA?" I asked."/>

			<outline text=""If I were working for the CIA," he said, " I would have ten people working making a living exposing me. If I were the CIA, I'd own New Republic. I'd own The New Masses. I'd own Rolling Stone. I'd have 50 groups of people exposing the CIA..." "Do you think CIA people were involved in your group in the sixties?" I asked. Without hesitating Leary said, "Of course they were. I would say that eighty percent of my movements, eighty percent of the decisions I made were suggested to me by CIA people..."/>

			<outline text=""I like the CIA!" he said. "The game they're playing is better than the FBI. Better than the Saigon police. Better than Franco's police. Better than the Israeli police. They're a thousand times better than the KGB. So it comes down to: who are you going to work for? The Yankees or the Dodgers?""/>

			<outline text="Leary had this in common with people I knew at the Mellon Bank. Baseball metaphors. Heavy baseball metaphors, same as Nixon used. I'd heard Leary use them since I met him in 1965. I wondered if it was just a coincidence?"/>

			<outline text="Leary drank his wine and drifted a bit, talking about his current favorite subject, outer space. I brought the conversation back to the subject of mind control, telling Leary some of the details I'd learned about the CIA's use of drugs for thirty years in their attempt to find the perfect "recruitment pill, aphrodisiac, and amnesia drug." I explained the magnitude of the story and I told him that, based on my interviews with survivors of the experiments and psycho scientists who'd done some of them, I had to conclude that the CIA had long ago reached their goal of creating the perfect security device short of assassination -- one which controlled the human mind."/>

			<outline text="I told Leary that, based on some of the documents I'd read, it seemed that he could have been just one of many scientist who'd been used without his knowledge by the CIA to conduct their mind control experiments."/>

			<outline text=""I've known this for ten years," Leary said."/>

			<outline text=""You were witting of it?" I asked in surprise."/>

			<outline text=""Of course," Leary said, leaning back in his chair with confidence."/>

			<outline text="I couldn't believe my ears. The CIA had created the "Psychedelic Sixties" with Timothy Leary's help?"/>

			<outline text=""You were wittingly used by the CIA?" I asked again. "...During the sixties? You knew you were being used by the CIA?""/>

			<outline text=""Wait," Leary said. "When you say CIA, it's like saying Niggers..."I knew I was being used by the intelligence agents of this country.""/>

			<outline text=""What were you doing for them?" I asked. "What the hell were you doing?"Did they want you to turn the kids on, huh? Were they trying to make the kids see God and leave the Vietnam war alone?""/>

			<outline text=""Walter, are you starting off into nationalism..." Leary said, trying to put me on the defensive -- exhibiting his fatal character flaw -- sold on himself as a master psychologist, a master manipulator."/>

			<outline text=""I'm asking you what was the CIA's motive? What were you used for?" I said again."/>

			<outline text=""The CIA recognized what you probably haven't recognized yet, that I'm a very important national asset..."What can I say,?" Leary said."/>

			<outline text="That was Leary. He believed his own press releases."/>

			<outline text="He lit his half-smoked joint and continued. "Yeah. I saw in nineteen sixty-two or three, that there was a world struggle for the control of minds. That's a crude way to say it..."I saw, after Hiroshima, there would never be a big world war. World war would be at the neurological level, not at the level of tanks and planes and bombs..."/>

			<outline text=""I proceeded as an intelligence agent since 1962, understanding that the next war for control of this planet and beyond, had to do with the control of consciousness. So I had to think very carefully about that..."/>

			<outline text=""I wanted my side to win the war..."There's no winning or losing... but I wanted my side to stake out enough territory...."/>

			<outline text=""I'm talking about time territory, not space territory...."Of course, you need enough space territory to get your time to make sure that the particular version of the territory of consciousness I would be represented in... I believed, after studying all the other versions, that my philosophy of the future... skip philosophy... my Clausewitz tactics and strategy, or my natural chauvinistic consciousness commitments were very fierce and strong..."/>

			<outline text=""I wanted my species to be recognized, understood and have a strong single voice in creating the reality of the future..."I wanted to create a segment of the future which I felt I would be the spokesman for...""/>

			<outline text="I let him talk. When he paused to catch his thought which had drifted away on a puff of muggles, I repeated the question: "Did you ever wittingly work for the CIA?""/>

			<outline text=""Yes," he answered strongly. "I was a witting agent of the CIA, but, I'm not a willing agent of Nixon! I did everything in my power to throw out Nixon!" (So, it would appear, did the CIA.)"/>

			<outline text=""I'm a witting agent in that I think Roosevelt was a disaster, but historically necessary.... So, pin me down and I'll tell you exactly what I'm doing for the CIA," he said."/>

			<outline text=""What are you doing for the CIA?" I said, disbelieving everything he said."/>

			<outline text=""I'm raising the intelligence of an elite... a very elite group of Americans," he said. "So I think the future of freedom depends on a very small group of people who are smart enough to defend that liberty...""/>

			<outline text=""So, you work for the Central Intelligence Agency?" I asked. "Is it the Deputy Director of Plans you work for? Who makes out your checks?""/>

			<outline text=""It's none of your business to know how those things work. I'll answer you no questions that have to do with business. I'll answer you any question about history or people...""/>

			<outline text="He drifted off into a monologue talking about neurological cosmology, his outer space connections. Again I brought the conversation back to the central question again :" What year did you start working for the CIA?""/>

			<outline text=""Well, I never worked in the sense that nobody ever came to me and said would you work for the CIA...""/>

			<outline text=""Nobody recruited you?" I asked."/>

			<outline text=""No, nobody ever recruited me. People came and advised me to do this or that. I didn't know that I was being advised by the CIA. I assume now, that I was being advised by the CIA...""/>

			<outline text=""But a moment ago you did say that you knew at the time. You said that you were wittingly working for the CIA...""/>

			<outline text=""Don't you understand," Leary barked, "I'm talking about a very narrow segment of CIA activity which has to do with personality assessment. The OSS was the forerunner of CIA mind stuff... OSS founded... Howard Murray, who was the head of the OSS, the started the personality research. MacKinnon who was OSS, started personality assessment research, so that all personality assessment in the 1950's was basically CIA initiated...""/>

			<outline text="Later research disclosed the Donald W. MacKinnon, Ph.D. (Bryn Mawr College) and Henry A. Murray, M.C., Ph.D., Lt. Col. (Harvard) were among 74 OSS staff members who worked to develop personality assessment techniques which are still used to select employees of the CIA and other intelligence agencies."/>

			<outline text=""Good grief," I said. "I knew they supported Dr. Rhine's ESP experiments at Duke University...""/>

			<outline text=""I didn't know that," Leary said. "But I think they should have..." and finally the wine began to take effect and the interview degenerated into speculation about CIA's activities in various LSD research projects. Leary was curious about several of them and he asked me to see if I could dig up some information for him. Leary asked me about other LSD researchers of the early days. He wanted to know about Walter Pankhe and he was especially interested in the Chez. psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, who, he said, had been brought from behind the "Iron Curtain" to the U.S. to run one of the only official "LSD Research Projects.""/>

			<outline text="At one point in the conversation Leary told me he had talked at length with Al Larkin, a reporter for the Boston Globe which had been investigating his research at Harvard looking for the CIA link."/>

			<outline text=""Al Larkin told me that the guy that led me to get fired from Harvard was a man named Herbert Chanoch Kelman... Does that name mean anything to you?" Leary asked."/>

			<outline text="I called Larkin the next day and he admitted that he'd been investigating Leary's involvement with CIA and Harvard since the MKULTRA story had local interest. (Harvard is in Boston.)"/>

			<outline text=""I was in the process of pursuing a number of different avenues," Larkin said, " pursuing the possibility of some of Timothy's money coming through one of the organizations established as a front for CIA money I talked to him about it at that time and he said he had no knowledge of it, although the time span of the two things did coincide."/>

			<outline text=""I was particularly interested in a project Leary did at the Concord Reformatory, since it was very similar to some of the projects funded by the CIA. It did fit into the proper frame... I was unable to get any records on the Concord Project. I did talk to one of the people who was very closely involved with the MKULTRA research in Massachusetts. I mentioned Leary's name, and the guy almost became livid, as any good CIA patriot should. He said, 'We would never have given anything to him!'""/>

			<outline text="Larkin said the man's name was Dr. Robert Lashbrook who was number two in the MKULTRA experiments which consumed tens of thousands of unwitting human guinea pigs, causing at least one known death to a non-volunteer victim. Lashbrook was given immunity to testify before Kennedy's congressional committee investigating the CIA's mind control operations."/>

			<outline text="I relayed to Larkin the details of my interview with Leary. If what Leary had told me was true, it looked like the CIA, then, had made a large contribution to the creation of the Psychedelic Sixties."/>

			<outline text=""Let me ask you a couple of questions which really shouldn't be repeated," Larkin said. "What is Leary's financial condition right now?""/>

			<outline text=""I haven't the slightest idea. Why?"/>

			<outline text=""The reason I raised it, he mentioned, two months ago, that he was writing a piece for The New York Times on this topic. He said that he hoped to sell it to The Times on the MKULTRA project."/>

			<outline text=""I never saw the piece, and I talked to him a few weeks ago and he said, he was talking to someone at Esquire about it. He said, 'I think I'm going to write a piece for them on this, cause I need the money...""/>

			<outline text=""Then it occurred to me," Larkin said, "that Timothy Leary, who had very little interest in my initial questions about his involvement, suddenly had become interested and may have seen it as a way to establish some credibility for his writing about this. In other words, he realized when The Times didn't want his piece, so he had to enhance his credibility somehow and maybe do it by dropping a hint to you, and then suggesting that you call me. I have a message here that says that I am to call him. He may be wanting to tell me to call you. You see what I'm driving at?'"/>

			<outline text="I told Larkin that I'd played my interview with Leary to several of his friends who all concluded that, because of the contradictions, Leary was not telling the truth. One of the things he said on the tape was "FBI" when he clearly meant to say "CIA.""/>

			<outline text=""He said that you (Larkin) found out that this doctor named Herb Kelman had been responsible for him getting thrown out of Harvard. Leary said that you found out Kelman was a CIA man. Is that true?""/>

			<outline text=""No. No.,," Larkin said. "He's misinterpreting what I said. Leary told me that Kelman led the fight to get him thrown out of Harvard. I found out that Kelman got a thousand dollars from the Human Ecology Fund, a CIA fund. So, I called Kelman and said to him 'what was your role in the removal of Leary?' He admitted that he played a role in it and he said, 'I didn't like what Leary was doing. I was opposed to human experimentation. I was opposed to giving drugs to undergraduates and I knew that he was doing it.'"/>

			<outline text=""Kelman said, 'I was a young researcher then, and I didn't carry a lot of weight but I was outspoken. And when the furor died down somewhat I continued to argue for it to reemerge.'"/>

			<outline text="So I said to Kelman, "What about this money?'""/>

			<outline text="Kelman said that he didn't know the Human Ecology Fund was a fund set up by the CIA and he was very up-front about it -- he said that he had been editing a book for a small private organization and before it could go to print he had to bring the authors together in Cambridge and the organization which was sponsoring the book didn't have any more money and he needed the thousand dollars and he went to talk to a guy named Edgar Schein...""/>

			<outline text="Schein was one of the leading investigators during the Korean war into the 'brainwashing' hoax. Schein knowingly worked for the CIA."/>

			<outline text=""He'd told Kelman to go to the Human Ecology Fund and he wrote a letter for him... but no one ever asked Kelman to do anything. According to him, the book had nothing to do with the areas which would interest the CIA, it seems to me to be obviously one of those small cover projects they had to do to maintain their credibility in academia... So Leary's interpretation of the thing is a little bit more... hardcore...""/>

			<outline text="For some months that's where this story stood -- unfinished, in limbo. I didn't even bother to transcribe the interviews. Then the first coincidence -- certain proof of the cryptocracy's ongoing Agit Prop operation: A cell mate of Leary's was located. He said that when Leary came back from his escape he was very frightened."/>

			<outline text=""In Vacaville, he had one of the best positions. He was working in the education wing. He was making it with a pretty little blonde nurse... He was writing and doing meditation, but he was running scared. He was scared behind the Panthers in there... The way the CIA got Tim out of Algeria was they told him that Eldridge Cleaver wanted to kill him, that's why Tim left...""/>

			<outline text="This cell mate of Leary's wanted to be identified only as Yogi. He said that Leary had some "heavy" friends in prison who protected him."/>

			<outline text=""But he let everyone down. It's a well known fact that they took him out at night -- the Feds did. Before he was testifying, they had Federal guards with him at all times. In the end he was in protective custody... When he was in prison no one knew he was a stool pigeon. He was a hero. He was living on his rep that he was the head Boo-Hoo of the acid freaks. That was enough to protect him by the heavy hippies who looked up to him."/>

			<outline text=""All of a sudden they took Timmy out at night."Usually, when you go somewhere, you go by bus, but the Feds took him by car. They stayed with him at all times. That's when we began to suspect that he was working with the Feds..."/>

			<outline text=""He still was Chief Boo-Hoo to most in prison. But then the word came down that he was testifying on Weathermen, and he even gave up his own lawyer and turned over the people who helped him get out of the country. He was giving out who was who in the groups, what they were doing, smuggling and narcotics... He gave up all that... they'd take him down to custody and they'd talk to him. Obviously, they told him, 'If you want to get out of here... if you don't give us what we want to know, we're going to make sure that you die in prison!'"/>

			<outline text=""It was too much for him. I know that they were coming regularly to make him turn over on his own daughter. He could have gone out in style. He could have helped a lot of people... Then everybody found out he was a fucking weak punk."/>

			<outline text=""I don't know anyone who really respects him. That's why I told you the other night, I told you to tell him about me and see how he reacts. He knows me as Yogi, the guy who brought him the note from Nick (Sands?) in San Francisco. He used to go to the 3HO Yoga classes there..."/>

			<outline text=""That was a beautiful day. Ram Das came and all of us was there. Tim didn't even have enough class to show up. He said that Ram Das was a child molester and he didn't even want to talk to him...""/>

			<outline text=""Could Leary have been working with the CIA or FBI during the whole 6time he was in prison," I asked Yogi. "Before his escape, and before he came back to prison?""/>

			<outline text=""He sure could," Yogi said. "He had to be something because to turn over like that, with the rep he had with all the beautiful people... I know he got a lot of people started on the spiritual path. He helped a lot of people get into meditation and yoga... He gained a lot of good karma for that, but he's going to need it."/>

			<outline text=""I really felt bad that someone who got so many people on the spiritual path was so weak in the end. I can't judge. I still got that joint consciousness. He's a rat and that's that. Let God take care of him. He had to do it the weak way. All my partners and all the people I knew in the joint, everyone felt the same way...""/>

			<outline text="I transcribed no tapes. Yogi's testimony was just hearsay -- the talk of a convict. The second coincidence came: I was introduced to Leary's cell mate in Folsom. Again this man doesn't want to be identified. Both men said that they would, however, come forth to back me up if I ever needed them."/>

			<outline text="This second former convict has also gone straight and wants to protect his name. He was then the head of his own construction company and was making more money honestly, than he ever made at crime."/>

			<outline text="This man, we'll call him Ray, spoke of the period when Tim could not be found by his wife, Joanna. He said that one day Leary was returned to their cell with his head shaved and blue lines painted on it."/>

			<outline text=""Tim got just about the whole works. He was a different type of case than I was. They felt that they could use him a lot more than someone like me. I was an unknown, but if they could turn someone like Leary around and get him to do what he's doing right now, in fact, he'd be very useful to the government... the high priest had to be de-throned."/>

			<outline text=""Tim is a very fascinating person. There is only a handful of people who did what he did -- who took a whole generation and turned them on. That was the challenge to the Feds, if they could find out how his mind worked, and use him..."/>

			<outline text=""Well, one day he comes back to the cell with lines on his head. They were actually very precise measurement lines. His head was shaved and it was marked with all these careful, precise blue lines."/>

			<outline text=""I asked him what the lines were for. He told me that they were going to give him a lobotomy. They were going to stick ice picks into his brain. He told me that it was really going to be great. They had him completely brainwashed. He said, 'this is going to be the greatest thing. All my life I've been going through this, you get up, you get down, but now, ' he said, 'I'll be just as smart as I am, but I won't have to feel emotions any more. Wow!'""/>

			<outline text=""You think they broke him?" I asked."/>

			<outline text=""Totally controlled him. They gave him a lot of those fright drugs. They kept him in solitary. They did everything they could to break his mind, and they succeeded. Look at him now...""/>

			<outline text=""Suddenly he tells me he worked for the CIA for years," I said."/>

			<outline text=""Well, that may be one of their defenses. In other words, by admitting what you did, nobody believes it and it makes you look ridiculous. When they're done with you -- and I've been through a lot of their drugs and tortures -- at a certain state, you're really like a zombie. You're so conditioned chemically that a guy isn't even aware of what's happened. Leary bought the whole thing. They really have gotten good at it. You know, nobody is going to believe us...""/>

			<outline text="Then they didn't, but will they now?"/>

			<outline text=""Leary never would have gotten out of prison," Ray said. "He'd either bend or they'd break him. No matter how sympathetic you may be, to really understand the situation, you have to go through it yourself. You say, well they couldn't break me. I wouldn't do it. It just couldn't happen."/>

			<outline text=""But believe me, we are like just so much putty and clay and we can just stand so much, and when they're finished with the mind control, it's almost impossible to tell...""/>

			<outline text="Still Ray's was just the testimony of another ex-con. While the testimony of his prisonmates was merely hearsay, at least they appeared to believed what they said. Leary, it seemed, believed nothing."/>

			<outline text="Even after 20 years these questions remain: Did Leary work for the CIA in the 1960's. If he did, why did he admit it? Was he proselytizing LSD during the '60's under CIA direction? Was Leary's escape from Vacaville, allegedly with the help of Cubans and Weather Underground, encouraged by the U.S. government so that Leary could later 'finger' those who helped him? Was his sojourn in Algeria with Cleaver, and in Switzerland, then Afghanistan also CIA directed."/>

			<outline text="One CIA document was dated 1 November 1963. It was headed:" MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD. SUBJECT: International Federation for Internal Freedom (IFIF), ALPERT, Richard, Ph.D., LEARY, Timothy F., Ph.D., Drugs, Mind Affecting, Agency Policy Regarding.""/>

			<outline text="The last two paragraphs of that memo, now thirty-three years old, remain unanswered: The CIA Security Office (OS) "has not been able to determine whether any staff employees of the Agency have engaged in the unauthorized taking of any of these drugs, but there is information that some nonagency groups, particularly on the West Coast, have taken these drugs in a type of religious experimentation. While as previously mentioned there are no staff employees involved, some individuals known to have taken the drugs have sensitive security clearances and are engaged in classified work."/>

			<outline text=""Any information concerning the use of this type of drug for experimental or personal reasons should be reported immediately to Chief/SRS/OS (Office of Security) with all specific details furnished. In addition, any information of Agency personnel involved with the International Federation for Internal Freedom, or with Drs. ALPERT or LEARY, or with any group engaging in this type of activity should also be reported.""/>

			<outline text="The memo was signed, "Chief/SRS/OS.""/>

			<outline text="No follow-up was furnished in the CIA MKULTRA documents. This document is clearly an in-house query from the security division chief who was worried about what the other divisions of the CIA might be doing. Non-Agency groups meant contract agents or front groups. Staff employees are high-ranking CIA personnel who take their orders, usually, direct from Langley. The CIA operates on a "need to know" basis, with no individual knowing anything more than the minimum he or she needs to know to perform his or her job. Various agencies within the CIA, often the Office of the Deputy Director of Plans, then Richard Helms, were taking matters into their own hands with direction from above. Since the Chief of Security was so concerned, there must have been good reason. And what about Leary's own statement's that he wittingly followed the directions of the CIA in the 1960's? When former CIA Director, Admiral Stansfield Turner was asked whether or not the CIA supported Timothy Leary or gave Leary LSD, he replied only, "The CIA gave it to those who were doing the research.""/>

			<outline text="Was Leary's involvement with promoting private enterprise in outer space, and especially his involvement with the L-5 Society also CIA inspired? A phone call to an old friend who'd once been a director of the L-5 Society revealed that it been about to fold for lack of subscriptions in 1080, when a retired military officer with known intelligence connections sent an unsolicited donation of $10,000 to save it from failure. He said he's wondered himself about the L-5 Society's Director, Carolyn Hanson who'd been with Leary when he visited me. I asked Ms. Hanson to tell me what her political ideas were and she evaded my question. I asked her another question and she was very cryptic. Leary had introduced her as "the smartest woman in the world," and she blushed and demurred, "Well, one of the smartest.""/>

			<outline text="A few years later, in the mid 80's, Leary was writing books dictated by voices he heard, he said, coming from outer space."/>

			<outline text="Now knowing what we know about mind control, one has to ask if Timothy Leary was himself a victim of the same cryptocracy he once owed his allegiance to, like so many other government employees."/>

			<outline text="While LSD was banned by the federal government on October 6, 1966, it has made its comeback among the young as the recreational drug of choice. As if to prove its own failure in the "War on Drugs" a 1993 survey made by the federal government showed a substantial upswing in the use of acid by the nation's eighth-graders. The report recorded the highest level of LSD use by high school seniors since 1985 and it said the teen-agers perferred LSD to cocaine."/>

			<outline text="In 1966, most of the significant legal research projects into psychedelic drugs were officially closed. Only a small band of researchers continued to inch forward in their research, hoping to regain the government's blessing -- and grants -- to use it on human subjects. In 1991 they won approval from the Food and Drug Administration for the study of LSD's effect on 60 drug addicts."/>

			<outline text="According to the San Jose Mercury News, Richard Yensen, one of the researchers who was about to conduct an officially sanctioned study, said he believes that using humans to assesss LSD is essential because, "it is very hard to ask a rat what is happening in its consciousness.""/>

			<outline text="" And he answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text="" A little while later whoever was administering the morphine checked on him, asking him, 'Would you like a little more morphine?'"/>

			<outline text=""And he answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text=""After an interval, the morphine admistrator asked, 'How about some more morphine?'"/>

			<outline text=""And Leary answered, 'Why not?'"/>

			<outline text=""After that they asked, "I'll bet you're feeling no pain now?'"/>

			<outline text=""Nobody recruited you?" I asked."/>

			<outline text=""I haven't the slightest idea. Why?"/>

Wow!'""/>

			<outline text=""You think they broke him?" I asked."/>

			<outline text="Then they didn't, but will they now?"/>

			<outline text="The memo was signed, "Chief/SRS/OS.""/>

			<outline text=""/>

			<outline text="The Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI, or OSI), is a Field Operating Agency (FOA) of the Department of the Air Force that provides professional investigative services to commanders throughout the United States Air Force. AFOSI identifies, investigates and neutralizes criminal, terrorist, and espionage threats to personnel and resources of the Air Force and Department of Defense using special agents."/>

			<outline text="[edit]OverviewAFOSI was founded August 1, 1948, at the suggestion of Congress to consolidate investigative activities in the Air Force. Secretary of the Air ForceW. Stuart Symington created AFOSI and patterned it after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He appointed Special AgentJoseph Carroll, an assistant to FBI DirectorJ. Edgar Hoover, as the first AFOSI commander and charged him with providing independent, unbiased and centrally directed investigations of criminal activity in the Air Force. As of 2007, the AFOSI has 2,900 employees.[1]"/>

			<outline text="The AFOSI focuses on five priorities:"/>

			<outline text="Develop and retain a force capable of meeting Air Force needs,Detect and provide early warning of worldwide threats to the Air Force,Identify and resolve crime impacting Air Force readiness or good order and discipline,Combat threats to Air Force information systems and technologies, andDefeat and deter fraud in the acquisition of Air Force prioritized weapons systems.[2][edit]OrganizationIn addition to the FOA's headquarters, AFOSI has eight field investigations regions. Seven of the Regions are aligned with Air Force major commands:"/>

			<outline text="While the regions serve the investigative needs of those aligned major commands, all AFOSI units and personnel remain independent of those commands, and their chains of command flow directly to AFOSI Headquarters. Such organizational independence is intended to ensure unbiased investigations."/>

			<outline text="The single region not aligned with a major command is Region 7, the mission of which is to provide counter-intelligence and security-program management for special access programs under the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force."/>

			<outline text="At the regional level are subordinate units called field investigations squadrons, detachments, and operating locations. In sum, AFOSI owns more than 160 units worldwide.[3]"/>

			<outline text="[edit]OperationsThreat detection"/>

			<outline text="AFOSI manages offensive and defensive activities to detect, counter and destroy the effectiveness of hostile intelligence services and terrorist groups that target the Air Force. These efforts include investigating the crimes of espionage, terrorism, technology transfer and computer infiltration. This mission aspect also includes providing personal protection to senior Air Force leaders and other officials, as well as supervising an extensive antiterrorism program in geographic areas of heightened terrorist activity."/>

			<outline text="Criminal Investigations"/>

			<outline text="The vast majority of AFOSI's investigative activities pertain to felony crimes including murder, robbery, rape, assault, major burglaries, drug use and trafficking, sex offenses, arson, compromise of Air Force test materials, black market activities, and other criminal activities."/>

			<outline text="Economic crime investigations"/>

			<outline text="A significant amount of AFOSI investigative resources are assigned to fraud (or economic crime) investigations. These include violations of the public trust involving Air Force contracting matters, appropriated and nonappropriated funds activities, computer systems, pay and allowance matters, environmental matters, acquiring and disposing of Air Force property, and major administrative irregularities. AFOSI uses fraud surveys to determine the existence, location and extent of fraud in Air Force operations or programs. It also provides briefings to base and command-level resource managers to help identify and prevent fraud involving Air Force or DOD resources."/>

			<outline text="Information Operations"/>

			<outline text="The Air Force is now countering a global security threat to our information systems. Our role in support of Information Operations recognizes future threats to the Air Force, and our response to these threats, will occur in cyberspace. AFOSI's support to Information Operations comes in many facets. AFOSI's computer crime investigators provide rapid worldwide response to intrusions into Air Force systems."/>

			<outline text="Technology Protection"/>

			<outline text="The desires of potential adversaries to acquire or mimic the technological advances of the U.S. Air Force have heightened the need to protect critical Air Force technologies and collateral data. The AFOSI Research and Technology Protection Program provides focused, comprehensive counterintelligence and core mission investigative services to safeguard Air Force technologies, programs, critical program information, personnel and facilities."/>

			<outline text="Specialized Services"/>

			<outline text="AFOSI has numerous specialists who are invaluable in the successful resolution of investigations. They include technical specialists, polygraphers, behavioral scientists, computer experts and forensic advisers."/>

			<outline text="Defense Cyber Crime Center"/>

			<outline text="AFOSI is the DOD executive agent for both the Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory and the Defense Computer Investigations Training Program, which together comprise the Defense Cyber Crime Center. The forensics laboratory provides counterintelligence, criminal, and fraud computer-evidence processing, analysis, and diagnosis to DOD investigations. The investigations training program provides training in computer investigations and computer forensics to DOD investigators and examiners."/>

			<outline text="[edit]Training and physical requirementsAll new AFOSI special agent recruits'--whether officer, enlisted or civilian'--receive their entry-level training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. The training requires that each recruit meet physical requirements that are located on the FLETC web site at www.fletc.gov. The candidates attend a mandatory, 11-week Criminal Investigator Training Program with other federal law enforcement trainees. That course is followed by seven weeks of AFOSI agency-specific coursework. Both courses offer new agents training in firearms and other weapons, defensive tactics, forensics, surveillance and surveillance detection, antiterrorism techniques, crime scene processing, interrogations and interviews, court testimony, and military and federal law. Upon graduation, new AFOSI special agents spend a one-year probationary period in the field. Upon successful completion, some agents receive specialized training in economic crime, antiterrorism service, counterintelligence, computer crimes and other sophisticated criminal investigative capabilities. Others attend 12 weeks of technical training to acquire electronic, photographic and other skills required to perform technical surveillance countermeasures. Experienced agents selected for polygraph duties attend a 14-week DOD course.[4]"/>

			<outline text="Each recruit is expected to participate in each of the following exercises: flexibility, bench press, 1.5-mile (2.4 km) run/walk and agility run. All students are tested to determine their fitness level, and each test is age and gender normed. AFOSI special agents are expected to remain physical fit throughout their employment and must maintain Air Force physical fitness standards as defined by Air Force Instruction (AFI) 36-2905."/>

			<outline text=""Now is a moment when I think all parties in the six-party process, in particular here, North Korea, should turn their attention to how to peacefully and diplomatically address challenges that concern them," U.S. envoy Glyn Davies said from Beijing."/>

			<outline text="The two Koreas have technically still been at war since the all-out conflict between them in the 1950s. Smaller scale clashes have occurred since then, most recently in November 2010 when North Korea shelled a South Korean island, killing several people."/>

			<outline text="South Korea and the United States are often the focus of menacing language from Pyongyang, but the latest U.N. sanctions, a response to a long-range rocket launched last month by the North, appear to have prompted a ratcheting up of the threats."/>

			<outline text="A displeased Chinese editorial"/>

			<outline text="At the same time, North Korea's strong words and vow to conduct a third nuclear test -- previous ones took place in 2006 and 2009 -- appear to be testing the patience of its main ally, China, which voted in favor of the U.N. sanctions this week."/>

			<outline text="An editorial published Friday in the English-language edition of the state-run Chinese newspaper Global Times struck a displeased tone over Pyongyang's comments a day earlier."/>

			<outline text=""China's role and position are clear when discussing the North Korea issue in the U.N. Security Council," the editorial said. "If North Korea engages in further nuclear tests, China will not hesitate to reduce its assistance to North Korea.""/>

			<outline text="That prospect carries weight, since North Korea's impoverished economy relies heavily on China to stay afloat."/>

			<outline text="Global Times, whose editorial line often but not always reflects official Chinese policy, made it clear, though, that Beijing isn't about to cut Pyongyang loose."/>

			<outline text=""If the U.S., Japan and South Korea promote extreme U.N. sanctions on North Korea, China will resolutely stop them and force them to amend these draft resolutions," the editorial said."/>

			<outline text="Global Times noted that Beijing had put "a lot of effort into amendments" to the resolution approved by the Security Council this week."/>

			<outline text=""It seems that North Korea does not appreciate China's efforts," it said. "It criticized China without explicitly naming it in its statement yesterday.""/>

			<outline text="The newspaper was referring to a passage in the controversial North Korean statement Thursday that said that "big countries, which are obliged to take the lead in building a fair world order, are abandoning without hesitation even elementary principle, under the influence of the U.S. arbitrary and high-handed practices.""/>

			<outline text="The Global Times editorial also suggested that North Korea shouldn't rank too highly among China's priorities."/>

			<outline text=""China hopes for a stable peninsula, but it's not the end of the world if there's trouble there," it said, referring to the Korean peninsula that comprises North and South Korea. "This should be the baseline of China's position.""/>

			<outline text="The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday had urged North Korea and the West to "keep calm, remain cautious and refrain from any action that might escalate the situation in the region.""/>

			<outline text="U.S. concerned but prepared"/>

			<outline text="U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said Thursday there are no "outward indications" that North Korea is about to conduct a nuclear test, but he admitted it would be hard to determine that in advance."/>

			<outline text=""They have the capability, frankly, to conduct these tests in a way that makes it very difficult to determine whether or not they are doing it," he said in a Pentagon press conference."/>

			<outline text=""We are very concerned with North Korea's continuing provocative behavior," Panetta said, but he added that the United States is "fully prepared" to deal with any provocations."/>

			<outline text="CNN's K.J. Kwon reported from Seoul, and Jethro Mullen reported and wrote from Hong Kong. CNN's Jaime A. FlorCruz in Beijing contributed to this report. Mark Morgenstein updated from Atlanta."/>

			<outline text=""/>

			<outline text="If you think, going on six years after the onset of the financial crisis, that we've learned about all we're going to about wrongdoing in the run-up to the global financial crisis'... well, you might be a business editor."/>

			<outline text="So a big tip of the Audit's green eye shade to that dwindling band of reporters that continues to fight to tell the story of the great financial crisis."/>

			<outline text="An Audit GFC Hall of Fame would include a few dogged folks like Gretchen Morgenson and Louise Story, Michael Hudson, Mark Pittman, and Bob Ivry'--all of whom (except Pittman, much to our regret) understand that there were still critically important stories to tell after 2009'--particularly in the absence of any meaningful consequence for the perpetrators."/>

			<outline text="Jesse Eisinger and Jake Bernstein would be in there too, of course, recipients of the only Pulitzer Prize yet awarded for reporting on the financial crisis (for work published in 2010, it's worth noting)."/>

			<outline text="And Eisinger reaffirms in a new ProPublica/New York Times piece why the Crisis Club reporters have been right to keep pushing."/>

			<outline text="One of the most irritating narratives of the post-crisis has been the ''hoocoodanode?'' line, which says, essentially, that Wall Street was swept up in a mania and that no one knew a catastrophic reckoning was really possible, much less right around the corner. Morgenson recently caught Angelo Mozilo'--one of the architects of the housing bubble'--testifying that ''The cause of the problems of foreclosures is not created by Countrywide, nor M.B.I.A. This is all about an unprecedented, cataclysmic situation, unprecedented in the history of this country.''"/>

			<outline text="If you buy that false line, take a look at what Morgan Stanley's people were saying in March 2007 about a CDO they were trying to offload to foreign investors. They called it a ''Nuclear Holocaust,'' ''Shitbag,'' and ''Subprime Meltdown,'' according to a lawsuit Eisinger finds. That kind of, um, prescience belies the idea that Wall Street didn't know what it was doing. Really, a lot depends on how much you know about how the mortgages were made in the first place."/>

			<outline text="And it's clear Morgan Stanley knew, from internal email from 2005 and 2006 that warns that its CDOs were being created out of fraudulent mortgages. This is a critical paragraph in Eisinger's piece (emphasis mine):"/>

			<outline text="Two of the employees who received those emails joined an internal hedge fund, headed by Howard Hubler, that was formed only the following month, in April 2006. As recounted in Michael Lewis's ''The Big Short,'' Mr. Hubler infamously bet against the subprime market on Morgan Stanley's behalf, a fact that Morgan Stanley's chief financial officer conceded in late 2007. Mr. Hubler's group was supposed to be separate from the rest of Morgan Stanley, but the two bankers continued to receive similar information about the underlying market, according to a person briefed on the matter."/>

			<outline text="Why isn't this garden-variety fraud? Eisinger as much as asks. Good question."/>

			<outline text="After realizing the subprime market is going to crater based on private information, the bank creates a half-billion-dollar CDO (thereby helping further inflate the bubble) so it can short it and sells what it knows is a time bomb to unsuspecting investors. Nobody will pay for this, except perhaps the company's shareholders."/>

			<outline text="Did you really doubt that we hadn't fully investigated the financial crisis? The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission didn't find this. Neither, apparently, did the SEC or the Department of Justice."/>

			<outline text="It took discovery by lawyers for a Taiwanese bank in a private lawsuit and the continued interest of a journalist like Eisinger."/>

			<outline text="And this isn't some fly-by-night mortgage shop. It's Morgan Stanley."/>

			<outline text="At last, I have received my UK visa -- a visa that will last me two full years!And you, my wonderful friends, are the reason for this amazing victory.I want to confide that at the final moment, the visa was held up by the UK Border Agency in New York, but Member of Parliament for Birmingham Yardley John Hemming put in a parliamentary question to Immigration Minister Damian Green about the delay and, presto, my visa arrived a few days later. (The magic of ministerial questioning.)I also want to acknowledge the efforts of Jersey Immigration, which did a fantastic job of working with us once we were all able to fully communicate. (One of them actually contacted us late on a Sunday night to make sure all was in order.) In the final analysis, they had to overcome a struggle too.I will be writing much more in the days to come, but for now I just want to say I am so grateful.Let's show the world that the power of numbers (with a little help from social media) can bring justice to those in need. This is a new era and the Internet can accomplish much -- especially for those on a small island.As I continue my work, I will be writing about what I find in my travels atleahmcgrathgoodman.com. Hope to see you there.While you're at it, please also check out the blog of Trevor Pitman, the courageous man who launched this petition and a member of Jersey's Parliament. He can be found at:http://thebaldtruthjersey.blogspot.comWe're also on Twitter guys! But we don't want to deluge you.Next month, Jersey legislators will be voting on whether a Committee of Inquiry will be allowed to do a comprehensive vetting of the island's handling of its decades of child abuse. Will the committee be permitted to do a real investigation? This is an important time for eyes to remain on the island.This is only the beginning, so please keep in touch. Remember, without your witnessing these events as they unfolded -- and, now, as they continue to unfold -- little would have changed. A thousand thanks to you.P.S. Your excellent notes of support have been passed on to the victims' advocacy group in Jersey, so those who still suffer every day know that people care for them. Because of your comments, they will not feel so alone."/>
